organization&#8217;s presence in the United States. We engage people in the U.S. to fight injustice all around the world, while we also work to protect people&#8217;s human rights here in the U.S. </p><p>The Manager, Civic Space, (&#8220;Manager&#8221;) has a leadership role in the Programs and Research unit. Programs are ongoing bodies of work on human rights issues staffed by experts who create and implement strategies to win human rights victories and make long-term human rights impacts. This role blends strategic advising, cross-team coordination, and fundraising support to strengthen organizational alignment, expand impact, and enable the President to focus on long-term strategy and external leadership.</p><p><strong>About TechTonic Justice, Inc.</strong></p><p>Governments, landlords, employers, and other powerful actors use artificial intelligence (AI), algorithms, and related technologies to make decisions about how low-income people work, live, learn, and survive. When people are hurt by AI decision-making, they have few places to turn. TechTonic Justice exists to change this.</p><p>TechTonic Justice fights the ground-level harms AI causes low-income communities. We do this mainly by supporting local justice movements--legal aid organizations, frontline service providers, grassroots organizers, and affected communities--to identify and fight harmful uses of AI. We emphasize a multidimensional advocacy approach that blends litigation, community activation and organizing, public education, and narrative advocacy.</p><p><strong>Position Description. </strong></p><p>This position will become TTJ&#8217;s 11th team member and the 10th added in roughly the last year. Owing to our rapid growth, TTJ&#8217;s President is now positioned to turn his focus from establishing vital infrastructural and programmatic foundations towards long-term sustainability, high-level strategy, and consistent thought leadership. The Chief of Staff will provide strategic organizational, project management, and fundraising capacity to free up the President&#8217;s time while maintaining the President&#8217;s close connection and responsiveness to the team.</p><p>While the position will report to and work most closely with TTJ&#8217;s President, the Chief of Staff will also coordinate extensively with TTJ&#8217;s Operations Director and interface with the entire TTJ team in harmony with our transparent and collaborative culture. Although the Chief of Staff has no formal management authority, the role will exert significant influence within the organization and will gain insights into all aspects of TTJ&#8217;s work, thereby opening possibilities for future career growth.</p><p></p><p>The Chief of Staff&#8217;s work will involve three overarching functions: </p><p>1. Support the President on Fundraising and Relationship Management. The Chief of Staff will support the President to continue institutional fundraising and branch out into individual donor efforts. </p><p>2. Serve as the President&#8217;s Liaison to the TTJ Team. As the President&#8217;s focus transitions, the Chief of Staff will serve as the President&#8217;s liaison to every part of the TTJ team to understand their priorities, their work, and their needs. In collaboration with the President, the Chief of Staff will facilitate coordination, information exchange, and harmony across advocacy approaches and priorities. </p><p>3. Augment TTJ&#8217;s Project Management Capacity. Since its founding in 2017, PRP has recovered significant financial relief for marginalized people; built a nationwide network of government offices, elected officials, and community-based organizations; trained prosecutors and government lawyers across the country; and secured court victories on rights for abortion, immigrants, workers, and voting.</p><p></p><p>JOB SUMMARY</p><p>Public Rights Project (PRP) is seeking a Senior Manager, Media Relations to lead and drive our earned media strategy for the organization and our growing network of local government partners. In this role, you will elevate the voices of local leaders and communities on the frontlines of justice, translating complex legal and policy work into clear, compelling narratives and high-impact written materials that shape public discourse and reach national and regional audiences.</p><p>Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will directly supervise the Media Relations Coordinator while working closely with PRP's broader Communications &amp; Marketing team. You will cultivate high-value journalist relationships, lead proactive media campaigns, and produce and oversee publication-ready content &#8212; from press releases to op-eds &#8212; that positions PRP and our partners as leading voices in civil rights, democracy, and local governance.</p><p>This role requires both strategic leadership and strong execution, with a high degree of editorial judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines. It is an opportunity to operate at the intersection of law, policy, and social justice, with visibility into high-impact litigation and direct engagement with senior leaders.</p><p></p><p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p><p>Earned Media &amp; Press Relations</p><ul><li><p>Lead PRP's proactive earned media strategy, identifying and driving opportunities to place stories with national, regional, and issue-specific media outlets.</p></li><li><p>Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and producers across a range of beats including civil rights, immigration, democracy, criminal justice, and local government.</p></li><li><p>Support PRP's network of local government partners &#8212; including mayors and other elected officials &#8212; in developing and executing their own public relations strategies, helping amplify their voices on civil rights and justice issues in their communities.</p></li><li><p>Serve as a primary media contact for PRP, managing inbound press inquiries and coordinating rapid response to breaking news.</p></li><li><p>Lead the drafting and editorial review of press releases, media advisories, op-eds, statements, and other external materials, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and strategic alignment.</p></li><li><p>Manage and coordinate embargoed releases, ensuring timely and accurate distribution to media partners.</p></li><li><p>Lead media event production, including press conferences, media briefings, and media trainings for PRP staff and government partners.</p></li><li><p>Partner with PRP&#8217;s external media relations consultants to align on strategy, coordinate outreach efforts, and maximize media opportunities.</p></li></ul><p>Thought Leadership &amp; Executive Communications</p><ul><li><p>Support thought leadership strategies for PRP's executive leadership, including identifying non-media speaking opportunities (e.g., conferences, panels), op-ed placements, and LinkedIn and social media visibility, including supporting executive social media content beyond media coverage.</p></li><li><p>Prepare PRP staff and local government leaders for high-profile media appearances, including developing briefing materials, talking points, and interview coaching.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with the Director of Communications and the Chief Communications and Marketing Officer to identify moments where PRP has a distinct, additive voice, and develop compelling ways to enter those conversations.</p></li><li><p>Advise on organizational public statements, including developing criteria, process, and messaging for when and how PRP speaks publicly on key issues.</p></li></ul><p>Strategy &amp; Analytics</p><ul><li><p>Lead media monitoring and analysis using Meltwater and similar platforms, generating insights that inform and shape strategy &#8212; including updating the annual media strategy and individual media plans based on coverage trends and performance data &#8212; and demonstrate PRP's impact.</p></li><li><p>Track news cycles and issue area developments, and evolving trends in the journalism field and the broader civil rights and democracy spaces, identifying opportunities for proactive media engagement and recommending strategic responses.</p></li><li><p>Develop and maintain media lists across issue areas, markets, and audiences.</p></li><li><p>Produce regular media coverage reports and present findings to leadership.</p></li></ul><p>People Management</p><ul><li><p>Directly supervise the Media Relations Coordinator, providing day-to-day guidance, ongoing feedback, and professional development support.</p></li><li><p>Set clear goals and priorities for the Coordinator, delegating effectively and creating opportunities for growth.</p></li><li><p>Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture consistent with PRP's values.</p></li><li><p>Partner with the Director of Communications on team planning, capacity, and performance management.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><a href="https://publicrightsproject.applytojob.com/apply/DuKKWyaVQL/Senior-Manager-Media-Relations">Full Job Listing</a></p><div><hr></div><p><em>Don&#8217;t need the heads up about Job of the Day posts but want the rest? Institute for Reproductive Health Action Fund (NIRH Action Fund) are advocacy groups that fight for just and equitable access to reproductive health care and build political power for reproductive freedom. For decades, our strategy has been to go on the offensive, at the state and local level, so we have a long track record of passing laws that are safeguarding and advancing access.</p><p></p><p>THE ROLE</p><p>The Director of Communications is responsible for creating and managing organizational narrative, brand, and press strategies that shape the narrative around NIRH&#8217;s work to advance proactive reproductive freedom measures. In this role, you will actively focus on media engagement and placement, maintaining national reporter relationships, organizing and streamlining communications resources and assets, generating and updating organizational talking points and messaging materials, and staffing key spokespeople in media interviews. The Director of Communications will collaborate with the digital communications team to ensure brand and message consistency across NIRH platforms and the Director of Campaigns and Partnership Communications to ensure NIRH communications aligns with overall campaign goals.</p><p>The Director will also represent the organization in relevant communications coalitions and contribute thought leadership with VP of Communications as to overall strategy, priorities, and positioning.</p><p></p><p>WHAT YOU&#8217;LL DO:</p><ul><li><p>Manage NIRH brand, including visual identity, voice, and core messaging, to ensure consistency, effectiveness, accessibility, and values alignment.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate closely with digital communications team and other departments to ensure message and brand consistency across platforms (e.g., messaging on website and social media).</p></li><li><p>In rapid response moments, work with full communications team to identify response opportunities or needs and coordinate on messaging and tactics.</p></li><li><p>Ensure NIRH messaging is effective, aligns with Reproductive Justice values, and decreases stigma surrounding abortion and reproductive health generally.</p></li><li><p>Create strategic messaging on various reproductive freedom issues in support of NIRH goals.</p></li><li><p>Conduct message testing on key reproductive health, rights, and justice topics and ensure messaging is shared within organization and movement.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with other reproductive health, rights, and justice organizations to identify effective messages that align with NIRH values.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with the Director of Campaigns and Partnership Communications to ensure alignment across NIRH partner-focused campaigns and NIRH-specific communications efforts.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with Director of Campaigns and Partnerships Communications and Vice President of Communications to ensure strategic and narrative alignment across NIRH communications and the tools and resources developed for NIRH campaigns and partnerships.</p></li><li><p>Serve as press secretary for organization.</p></li><li><p>Identify news hooks related to NIRH&#8217;s mission and values.</p></li><li><p>Develop relationships and pitch reporters, create press events, and staff events as needed.</p></li><li><p>Track NIRH media hits, sharing with staff and other stakeholders as appropriate.</p></li><li><p>Manage press lists and media monitoring tool and conduct quarterly maintenance of press lists and tool.</p></li><li><p>Prep and staff principle and other spokespeople.</p></li><li><p>Monitor the media inbox daily, including evenings and weekends.</p></li><li><p>Manage NIRH website.</p></li><li><p>Work with web vendors to keep website accessible, updated, and secure.</p></li><li><p>Develop web copy and create pages as needed.</p></li><li><p>Special projects as needed.</p></li><li><p>Manage and coordinate communications projects, rollout of NIRH products such as issue briefs, and communications support of development work.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with VP of Communications and with other departments to track major developments pertaining to the reproductive freedom movement, assessing, planning for, and working collaboratively to execute rapid response plans.</p></li><li><p>Manage communications calendar and ensure transparency across organization</p></li><li><p>Work across departments to coordinate rollouts of issue briefs, requests for proposals for partnerships, and other projects.</p></li><li><p>Work with the development team on fundraising events, End of Year, and other projects with communications components.</p></li><li><p>May manage digital communications associate director, who manages a multimedia content creator, and vendors as needed.</p></li><li><p>Lead, advise, or coordinate on special projects as needed.</p></li><li><p>Represent NIRH in relevant communications coalitions</p></li><li><p>Work with other Communications team members and cross-departmentally for thought leadership and project planning and execution, including policy reports, RFP releases, fundraising events, and other projects.</p></li><li><p>Contribute thought leadership with Vice President of Communications (and Leadership Team, as needed) as to Communications overall strategy, priorities, and positioning within movement.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with Campaigns and Partnership Communications Director to ensure organizational alignment on technical communications assistance for partners including message development, media, and message training, etc.</p></li><li><p>Ensure communications assets center NIRH&#8217;s race equity values.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><a href="https://nirhealth.org/jobs/director-of-communications/">Full Job Listing</a></p><div><hr></div><p><em>Don&#8217;t need the heads up about Job of the Day posts but want the rest? We collaborate across sectors and with school systems to ensure that the 3.5 million young people who graduate high school every year have pathways to economic and social mobility.   </p><p>WHAT YOU&#8217;LL DO</p><p>This position is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the growth and impact of TNTP&#8217;s Education to Career (E2C) strategic priority. As a Partner in the Education to Career division, you will lead business development and partnership strategy to build and sustain a pipeline of ecosystem-level engagements that help communities align PK&#8211;12, higher education, workforce systems (including regional workforce development boards and chambers of commerce), employers and industry, city government, and community partners to create equitable career pathways. </p><p>Focus areas include career pathway design, educator workforce pathways, data analytics to inform strategy and measure outcomes, and state and regional partnerships (including cross-sector coalitions and public/private partnerships). You will originate and shape opportunities, translate ecosystem needs into fundable and deliverable scopes of work (including philanthropic funding), and serve as a senior advisor and facilitator to cross-sector leaders as they establish shared goals, governance, financing, and data infrastructure for lasting impact.
